Dealing with pre tags
I usually write my posts in muse markup, publish to HTML, and then submit the HTML via lj-update. I wrap the posts with the lj-raw tag. But somewhere during the post submission process, linebreaks get removed, which means that parts of the post that are inside <pre> tags get messed up -- those sections appear on the journal as one long line. I understand why this happens I think, but any suggestions for the best way to fix it or accomplish what I want to accomplish?

You know, I have a lot of problems with the way the formatting transitions over a lot of the time too... If somebody has a good setup they'd like to share, that'd be awesome.

Hm, I haven't noticed any other problems, since I use lj-raw and have everything in HTML. Just the pre tags.

I just implemented a Preformatted header, in r25, that you can try using.

Untested of course. :)

Hm, it did strange things for me. Somewhere in the posting process the closing angle bracket and trailing space for the opening lj-raw tag were eaten (so it showed up like <lj-raw<p>). Then at the end of the post, the opening angle bracket and slash were transposed, like /<lj-raw.

Yes, of course this is a problem in my publishing process, not in ljupdate. Please ignore :).

However, the pre bit still didn't work for me, even after correcting the problem on my end. The text between <pre class="example"> still came out on a single line.
